MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS & SAFETY EVALUATIONS

CRISIS SUPPORT AND EVALUATION

Timely clinical guidance when a child, teenager, or young adult is struggling with a mental health crisis.

When a child, adolescent, or college-aged young adult experiences a mental health crisis, families are often frightened, overwhelmed, and unsure where to turn. Concerns about suicidal thoughts, self-harm, threats toward others, severe emotional distress, or sudden changes in mood or behavior can leave parents struggling to determine what to do next and what level of care is needed.

At Psychological & Educational Consulting, LLC, we provide comprehensive, timely Crisis & Safety Evaluations to help families better understand the nature and severity of their child's or young adult's current difficulties and identify appropriate next steps. When clinically appropriate, an office-based evaluation may offer an alternative to an emergency department visit for individuals who do not require immediate emergency medical or psychiatric intervention.

Comprehensive Assessment & Individualized Recommendations

Each evaluation includes a thorough clinical interview, review of relevant personal and mental health history, assessment of current symptoms and safety concerns, identification of risk and protective factors, and clinical recommendations tailored to the individual's needs.

Our goal is to help families understand the seriousness of the situation, determine the appropriate level of care, and develop a plan to address immediate concerns while supporting longer-term emotional well-being.

Clear Guidance for Families & Coordinated Care

Following the evaluation, families receive a written summary of the clinical findings and recommendations, consistent with the purpose and scope of the assessment. With appropriate authorization, this documentation may be shared with schools, colleges, healthcare providers, and other relevant professionals to support care coordination and continuity of treatment.

We recognize that a mental health crisis affects the entire family. Our approach combines clinical expertise, compassion, and practical guidance to help parents and young adults navigate difficult decisions with greater clarity and confidence.

When concerns arise, you do not have to navigate the next steps alone. We help families identify appropriate supports, understand available treatment options, and move forward with a plan focused on safety, stability, and recover
