PSYCHO EDUCATIONAL EVALUATIONS

LEARNING AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT.

At Psychological & Educational Consulting, LLC, we provide comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to help children, adolescents, college students, and adults better understand how they learn, think, focus, manage emotions, and navigate everyday demands. Our evaluations identify individual strengths and challenges, clarify diagnoses, and provide actionable recommendations to support academic achievement, emotional well-being, and long-term success.

Led by Dr. Liz Nissim, a licensed clinical psychologist and certified school psychologist, our evaluations integrate cognitive, academic, attentional, executive functioning, social, emotional, and behavioral assessment to develop a comprehensive understanding of each individual's unique profile.

Our evaluations may assess and identify:

  • ADHD: Attention, concentration, impulse control, organization, time management, and executive functioning challenges.

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder: Social communication, social interaction, behavioral patterns, and related developmental characteristics.

  • Learning Disabilities: Dyslexia (reading), dysgraphia (written expression), and dyscalculia (mathematics), including specific academic strengths and areas of difficulty.

  • Anxiety and Emotional Functioning: Emotional regulation, anxiety, perfectionism, stress, and other factors that may interfere with learning and daily functioning.

  • Giftedness and Twice-Exceptional (2e) Profiles: Advanced cognitive abilities alongside ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, or other challenges that may mask an individual's strengths or affect performance.

  • Executive Functioning Difficulties: Challenges with planning, organization, working memory, task initiation, flexible thinking, self-monitoring, and completing tasks independently.

  • PANS/PANDAS-Related Concerns: When clinically indicated, evaluations may help characterize changes in cognitive, academic, behavioral, and emotional functioning associated with reported acute-onset symptoms. Appropriate medical evaluation is essential when these conditions are suspected.

Recommendations That Translate Into Meaningful Support

An evaluation should do more than provide test scores or a diagnosis. It should explain how an individual's profile affects everyday functioning and identify specific strategies, services, and accommodations that can make a meaningful difference.

Our comprehensive reports include individualized recommendations that may address:

  • IEPs and Special Education Services: Recommendations regarding eligibility considerations, specialized instruction, related services, and educational programming.

  • 504 Accommodation Plans: Strategies and accommodations to address attention, learning, emotional, and other functional challenges in school.

  • Classroom and Testing Accommodations: Extended time, reduced-distraction settings, breaks, assistive technology, and other supports when supported by the evaluation findings.

  • Executive Functioning Support: Practical strategies for organization, planning, time management, task completion, and independent learning.

  • Interventions and Related Services: Recommendations for academic remediation, speech-language services, occupational therapy, counseling, behavioral supports, and other interventions when indicated.

  • School Placement and Educational Planning: Guidance to help families understand the types of educational environments and supports that may best meet an individual's needs.

We help families understand evaluation findings, navigate educational recommendations, and advocate for appropriate supports across elementary, middle, and high school, as well as college.

College, Graduate School, and High-Stakes Testing Accommodations

Learning and attention challenges do not disappear after high school. We provide evaluations for college students, graduate students, and adults seeking a better understanding of their learning profiles and documentation to support requests for accommodations.

Our evaluations may support accommodation applications through colleges, universities, graduate programs, and testing organizations, including requests for extended time, additional breaks, reduced-distraction testing environments, and other appropriate accommodations.

Evaluations may be used in applications for accommodations on standardized and professional examinations, including:

  • SAT and ACT

  • GRE

  • MCAT

  • LSAT

  • Bar Examination

Accommodation decisions are made by the relevant school, institution, or testing authority. Documentation requirements vary, and an evaluation does not guarantee approval.
